THE EASTERN VA ASSOCIATION OF DIABETES EDUCATORS VOTES TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE VICTIMS OF HURRICANE KATRINA In the wake of hurricane Katrina, the Eastern Virginia Association of Diabetes Educators (EVADE) has voted to contribute funds to aid in the recovery efforts of those living in the devastated gulf region. To further the impact of their contribution, EVADE has partnered with a diabetes supply manufacturer, Home Diagnostics Incorporated, who agreed to match EVADE's contribution to the American Red Cross. EVADE is also donating funds which will be used specifically to care for diabetics who have been impacted by hurricane Katrina. Recently, EVADE has also voted to send diabetes funds to Haiti to assist with the care of those needing resources in that region. These contributions follow EVADE's history of kindness, generosity, and caring. The organization is known for their involvement within the community working with diabetes camps, supporting free clinics and hosting diabetes events.
